Triangular Spiral

This week I used color shapes and different attributes, to create rich gradations. Creating this sketch, I was inspired by African geometric patterns.

I was struggling a lot with finding how to create the “triangular-spiral”. I spent hours on calculating what seemed simple at first sight.

The following images demonstrate the different stages of the code. I got some really great and interesting shapes! but I didn’t understand why..

Finally! I realized that the main problem was that the first two edges of the triangle are at the same size. Even though it was a bit frustrating I opened a new sketch and started from the beginning but didn’t include the first two edges in the loop and it WORKED!

I would like to take it further and to use these triangular-spirals as pixels in a way that their density will allow the difference between the pixels.
